Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a kindly woodcutter named Raj. He lived with his family and earned his living chopping wood in the nearby forest. One day, while he was cutting down trees near a river, the king’s ax fell from his hand and fell into the water.
The king was very sad because the ax was the only tool he could use. He was sitting by the river, sad, not knowing what to do. Suddenly a tasty fish appeared in the water. The fish held a shining golden arrow in its mouth.
“Is this your arrow?” the fish asked. Raja shook his head and explained that his blade was soft and made of iron. Then the fish brought out a silver arrow, but the king again denied it was his.
Finally, the fish brought back the iron arrow that the king had lost. An overjoyed Raj thanked the magical fish and shared his story of truth with the villagers. The news spread and everyone praised the king for his honesty. From that day on, the king became known as the faithful lumberjack, and his faithfulness brought him honor and wealth. Villagers have learned that honesty is a treasure more valuable than gold or silver.
